About the TikTok Shop Fee Calculator

This TikTok Shop fee calculator works out what a sale is really worth to you. Enter the price the customer pays for the item, any TikTok-funded platform discount, the creator affiliate commission you offer and your product and shipping costs, and it shows the referral fee TikTok deducts, the commission paid to the creator, your settlement and your profit per order and per month.

It is built for sellers launching on TikTok Shop, brands deciding how much affiliate commission they can afford to offer creators, and anyone comparing TikTok Shop with Amazon, Etsy or their own store. Because affiliate commissions often cost more than the platform fee itself, the breakdown makes it easy to see which lever matters most.

The default referral fee is 6%, TikTok Shop’s standard US rate on qualified orders since April 1, 2024 (TikTok publishes category-level rates separately, and new sellers on promotional plans may pay less, so set the rate shown in your Seller Center). Rules as reviewed October 2026. TikTok calculates it on the customer payment plus any platform discount, excluding sales tax and shipping. The affiliate commission is applied to the item price. Refund administration fees, ads and returns are not included.

With the default inputs, the profit per order is $10.70. Change any value above to recalculate instantly.

How to use the tiktok shop fee calculator

  1. 1Enter the item price the customer pays and any TikTok-funded discount.
  2. 2Check the referral fee rate for your category (6% by default).
  3. 3Enter the affiliate commission, or 0 for non-affiliate sales.
  4. 4Add your product, shipping and other costs per order.
  5. 5Read your profit, margin and the maximum commission you can afford.

Formula and method

Referral = r × (P + D) · Affiliate = a × P · Profit = P + D + S − Referral − Affiliate − COGS − shipping − other

TikTok Shop’s referral fee is a percentage r of the customer payment for the item plus any platform-funded discount, with sales tax and shipping excluded — the formula TikTok publishes is rate × (customer payment + platform discount − tax). If a creator drove the sale, the affiliate commission a is paid on the item price.

Settlement is everything you receive for the order (item price, platform discount and shipping charged) minus those two fees. Profit then subtracts your product cost, shipping label and any other per-order cost. The highest affordable affiliate rate is the commission at which profit falls to zero, which helps when setting open-collaboration or targeted-plan rates.

Worked examples

$30 product with 15% creator commission

TikTok takes 6% of $30 ($1.80) and the creator earns 15% ($4.50), so $23.70 is settled to you. After an $8 product and $5 shipping, profit is $10.70 per order — $5,350 on 500 orders a month.

Direct sale with a $5 platform discount

The customer pays $45 but TikTok funds a $5 discount, so your item revenue is $50 and the 6% referral fee is $3. With no affiliate, you settle $47, and after $21 of costs you keep $26.

Low-priced item with a 25% commission

On a $15 item the 6% fee is $0.90 and a 25% commission is $3.75. After $9.50 of product and shipping cost, only $0.85 is left — a 5.7% margin, showing how generous commissions squeeze cheap products.

Frequently asked questions

What are TikTok Shop’s seller fees in the US?+

TikTok Shop’s standard US referral fee is 6% per qualified order (since April 1, 2024); TikTok also publishes category-level rates, so check the rate for your category in Seller Center. There is no monthly subscription or listing fee. Affiliate commissions, shipping labels and ads are separate costs.

How is the TikTok Shop referral fee calculated?+

TikTok publishes the formula as referral rate × (customer payment + platform discount − tax). Platform discounts funded by TikTok are added back because you are reimbursed for them, while sales tax and shipping fees are excluded from the fee base.

How much affiliate commission should I offer on TikTok Shop?+

You set the rate yourself, and higher rates generally make a product more attractive to creators. The right number is what your margin can absorb: this calculator shows the highest commission you could pay before an order stops being profitable.

Does TikTok Shop charge a fee on refunds?+

When an order is refunded, TikTok Shop keeps a refund administration fee of 20% of the referral fee, capped at $5 per SKU since May 15, 2025. Creator sample refunds and eligible pre-shipment cancellations are exempt.

Do new sellers pay lower TikTok Shop fees?+

TikTok has offered promotional plans with reduced referral fees for new sellers, and sellers enrolled in one keep it until the promotional period ends. Change the referral rate input to match the rate shown in your Seller Center.
