About the Walmart Marketplace Fee Calculator

This Walmart Marketplace fee calculator shows what Walmart keeps from each order and what you take home. Pick the product category to apply the correct referral fee — including the tiered categories such as Apparel, Jewelry, Watches and Electronics Accessories — then choose whether you ship the order yourself or use Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS). For WFS it estimates the fulfillment fee from the unit weight and dimensions, adds surcharges and monthly storage, and subtracts your product cost to give profit and margin.

It is built for sellers pricing new listings, comparing self-fulfilment with WFS, or checking a settlement report. Walmart charges no setup or monthly subscription fee, so the referral fee, plus fulfilment and storage if you use WFS, makes up most of the platform cost.

Fees follow Walmart’s published US pricing page as reviewed in October 2026. The referral fee is charged on the total sales price, which includes the item price plus shipping and other charges paid by the customer. WFS fees use the standard size tier (up to 150 lb); heavier units use the big & bulky rate. Storage uses the January–September rate of $0.75 per cubic foot per month; from October to December, units stored more than 30 days pay $2.25 per cubic foot.

With the default inputs, the profit per sale is $7.66. Change any value above to recalculate instantly.

Formula and method

Profit = (Price + Shipping charged) − Referral fee − WFS fulfillment − Storage − Product cost

The referral fee is a percentage of the total sales price (item price plus shipping and other customer charges). Most categories use one flat rate. Some apply a rate based on which band the whole price falls in (Apparel, Baby, Beauty, Grocery, Outdoor Power Tools), and others charge each portion of the price at its own rate (Compact Appliances, Electronics Accessories, Furniture, Jewelry, Watches).

For WFS, the shipping weight is the unit weight for items under 1 lb, otherwise the greater of unit weight and dimensional weight (L × W × H ÷ 139), plus 0.25 lb for packaging, rounded up to the next pound. That weight sets the base fee, and surcharges are added for clothing, hazardous materials, items priced under $10 and oversize units. Storage is cubic feet (L × W × H ÷ 1,728) × $0.75 per month, prorated by days stored.

Worked examples

$25 kitchen item fulfilled by WFS

The 15% Home & Kitchen referral fee is $3.75. A 10 × 8 × 4 in box has a dimensional weight of 2.30 lb, which beats the 1.5 lb unit weight; adding 0.25 lb and rounding up gives 3 lb, a $5.45 WFS fee. Thirty days of storage for 0.185 cu ft costs about $0.14, leaving $7.66 profit after the $8 product cost.

Walmart’s own 6 lb widget example

Dimensional weight is 1,200 ÷ 139 = 8.63 lb, plus 0.25 lb = 8.88 lb, rounded up to 9 lb. The WFS fee is $5.75 + 5 × $0.40 = $7.75, matching Walmart’s published example. The 15% referral fee on $60 is $9, so profit is $60 − $9 − $7.75 − $25 = $18.25.

$400 watch shipped by the seller

Watches pay 15% on the portion up to $1,500, so the referral fee on $400 is $60. With no WFS fees, profit is $400 − $60 − $220 product cost − $9 shipping = $111.

Tiered jewelry fee on a $500 sale

Jewelry is charged 20% on the first $250 ($50) and 5% on the remaining $250 ($12.50), a $62.50 referral fee — an effective 12.5%. Profit is $500 − $62.50 − $200 − $6 = $231.50.

Frequently asked questions

What are Walmart Marketplace seller fees?+

Walmart charges no setup or monthly fee. You pay a referral fee on each sale, set by category and usually between 6% and 15% (up to 20% on the first $250 of jewelry). If you use Walmart Fulfillment Services you also pay a per-unit fulfillment fee and monthly storage.

Is the Walmart referral fee charged on shipping?+

Yes. Walmart applies the referral fee to the total sales price, which includes the item price plus shipping and handling, gift wrap and other charges paid by the customer.

How is the WFS fulfillment fee calculated?+

WFS uses the unit weight (under 1 lb) or the greater of unit weight and dimensional weight (L × W × H ÷ 139), adds 0.25 lb for packaging and rounds up to the next pound. That shipping weight sets the base fee — $3.45 for 1 lb, $4.95 for 2 lb, $5.45 for 3 lb and so on — plus any surcharges.

What surcharges does WFS add?+

Standard items add $0.50 for clothing, $0.50 for hazardous materials, $1 when the retail price is under $10, and $3 or $20 for oversize items depending on their length and girth. Big & bulky items over 150 lb use a separate $155 + $0.80/lb rate.

How much does WFS storage cost?+

Walmart lists storage at $0.75 per cubic foot per month from January to September. From October to December the rate stays $0.75 for units stored 30 days or less but rises to $2.25 per cubic foot per month for units stored longer than 30 days, and inventory stored more than 12 months pays $2.25 per cubic foot per month all year.
