Formula and method
The US fluid ounce is 1/128 of a US gallon (231 cubic inches), which works out to exactly 29.5735295625 ml. The UK or imperial fluid ounce is 1/160 of an imperial gallon (4.54609 L), exactly 28.4130625 ml. Multiply the ounces by the right factor to get milliliters and divide by 1,000 for liters.
