About the Countdown Calculator
This countdown calculator tells you exactly how long is left until a date and time you care about: days, hours and minutes, plus the total in weeks, hours, minutes and seconds and the number of working weekdays in between. The live panel ticks down in real time from your device clock, and the results below show the count from any starting moment you choose.
Use it for “how many days until Christmas?”, a wedding or vacation, an exam or product launch, a visa expiry or the end of a notice period. The milestone table lists the dates that fall 100, 50, 30, 14, 7 and 1 day before the event — useful for planning invitations, bookings and reminders.
Times are wall-clock times in a single time zone. If a daylight-saving change falls inside the countdown, the real elapsed time can differ by one hour from the figure shown.

Formula and method
The calculator converts both moments to seconds on the same calendar: whole days between the two dates times 86,400, plus the difference in clock time. That total is then broken down into days, hours and minutes (86,400 seconds per day, 3,600 per hour, 60 per minute) and also shown as totals in each unit.
Weekdays counts Monday–Friday dates after the start date up to and including the event date, which is how many working days you have left to prepare. A negative result means the event date is already in the past.

Worked examples
Days until New Year 2027 from noon on 29 Sep 2026
From 29 September to 1 January is 94 calendar days, but because the count starts at noon and the event is at midnight, 93 days and 12 hours remain — 2,244 hours in total. There are 68 weekdays between the two dates.
Wedding on 12 June 2027 at 3:30 PM
From 9:00 AM on 1 October 2026 to 3:30 PM on Saturday 12 June 2027 is 254 whole days plus 6 hours 30 minutes — 366,150 minutes to finish the planning.
Frequently asked questions
How many days until Christmas?+
Set the event date to 25 December and the count-from date to today. From 29 September 2026, for example, Christmas 2026 is 87 days away. The live countdown updates every second from your device clock.
Does the countdown include today?+
The count runs from the start moment to the event moment, so it measures the real time left rather than counting both end dates. From noon today to midnight tomorrow is 1 day 12 hours, not 2 days.
Why is the hour count off by one around daylight saving time?+
The calculator counts wall-clock time. If clocks spring forward or fall back during the countdown, the actual elapsed time is one hour shorter or longer than the figure shown.
Can I count down to a date in the past?+
Yes. If the event date is before the start date, the result shows how long ago it was, and the milestone table marks those dates as passed.
How do I count only working days until a deadline?+
