About the Anniversary Calculator
This anniversary calculator works out exactly how long you have been married or together — in years, months and days, plus total weeks and days — from your wedding or relationship start date. It also shows the date and weekday of your next anniversary, how many days are left, and the traditional and modern gift for that year.
Couples use it to plan a celebration, to find fun day-count milestones (your 1,000th or 10,000th day together often falls on a random Tuesday worth marking), and to check which big anniversaries — silver, ruby, golden — are coming up. The milestone table lists future dates so you can put them straight into a calendar.

Formula and method
Time together is counted the way people count birthdays: whole calendar years first, then remaining months, then days, so 18 June 2016 to 29 September 2026 is 10 years, 3 months and 11 days. Total days is the exact number of days between the two dates, and weeks is that number divided by 7.
The next anniversary is the same month and day in the first year after the as-of date (the same day counts as an anniversary with 0 days to go). A 29 February start date rolls to 28 February in common years. Gift themes follow the commonly published US traditional and modern lists.
